Astrology has long captivated individuals, offering a lens through which to view personal experiences against the backdrop of the cosmos. Erin Sachse, the creative mind behind Eriness, a fine jewelry brand based in Los Angeles, relies on the Co-Star astrology app for daily guidance. “When it suggests I’ll be inspired today, I tend to dedicate more time to my designs,” she shared.

Countless others turn to their horoscopes for guidance on various aspects of life, from romantic relationships to career choices—a practice that dates back thousands of years. While the origins of astrology can be traced to ancient Mesopotamia, it was the Greeks during the Hellenistic era (323 B.C. to 31 B.C.) who laid the groundwork for the Western astrology we recognize today.

Nicolas Bos, the CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, expressed the allure of the celestial realm in an email. The luxury brand's history includes a notable sale in 1907 of a star-shaped brooch adorned with pearls and diamonds. Since then, the brand has crafted both figurative and modern designs that reinterpret celestial themes, including zodiac symbols.

Among the most iconic creations are the striking gold zodiac medallions first launched in the 1950s and reintroduced in the 1970s. These vintage items have seen a resurgence in popularity, alongside the latest collection of bold pendants made from hard stones and gold, intricately carved with zodiac signs.

This trend reflects a broader cultural moment: jewelry designers and retailers report that zodiac motifs are increasingly sought after as contemporary talismans. Brands such as Eriness, Verdura, David Webb, and Foundrae have all released new collections featuring zodiac symbols, crafted from precious metals, diamonds, gemstones, and enamel, available in a wide range of styles and price points.
